Searching For Properties
“How do I search for properties?”
STEP 1: Click on the Find Properties icon in the top navigation bar; you DO NOT have to log in to search for properties.
A green box will pop up showing the options for the search criteria. If the box looks like it is half off the screen you need to upgrade your Internet Explorer from version 6 to version 7 by going to Microsoft.com and getting the free download.
STEP 2: Choose Sites or Buildings from the top of the green box
STEP 3: There are four sections to help you narrow your search: Basic, Assets, Location and Advanced.
You can choose to put something in any section depending on the search you want to do or leave anything blank. The more you leave BLANK the more results you will return.
Basic - You may then choose to narrow your search by checking the boxes next to the property type(s), the square footage, Sale/Lease, and Address. Address is for searching for a specific address - if you type in Main Street it will pull up all properties with Main Street in the address; if you type in 47 it will pull up all properties with 47 in the address.
You can then choose to continue narrowing your search criteria by going to the next section(s):
Assets - these are the searchable assets that are optional when inputting a property listing
Location - this is how you narrow the geography you want to search. You can do it by Town, County, MSA or Region (Regions aren't set up yet). Or you can choose to search by drawing a radius or a polygon on the map. If you choose a City, etc, you must either double click it or highlight it and click the + sign to add it to the box on the right side. The geographies showing in that box on the right side will be what the system searches for.
STEP 4: Click the large orange Search button after you have chosen all of the criteria you want.
The results will come up in a column format below the map. You will see how many properties were returned in your search by looking at the text on the right side which displays the number of pages and properties; for example "Viewing 1-5 of 28" means 28 properties were returned in your search. You can then scroll through the pages to see the properties and you can save the ones you like by mousing over the thumbnail photo and choosing Save from the little drop-down tab.
To see the entire list at once click View All under Advanced. Also Save All from the Advance menu will save the properties into My Folder.
Once you have saved all the properties you want, you can click on the Buildings in My Folder, it will show you all the saved ones and then you can export them either to Word, Excel, PDF or email.
If you only have a couple that you are viewing you can do export without saving them.
If you want to view the full property report, click on the address in green. You will then also see the multiple tabs for the demographics and business reports.
We are working on the printing and reports which will be much better soon.
